Art. Heart, Healing Workshop

She is back... yeahhhhhhhh....
My Muse :)
Mostly because I found that Tam at Willowing was offering a free workshop.

I had just finished my last blog post and told you my muse was still missing. Not an hour later I had been to another blog, after clicking on a link for some reason and read about the Art, Heart, Healing Workshop that Tamara was running.

I call that an "Unmistakable Touch of Grace", after reading the book by that title a couple of years ago by Cheryl Richardson. Some of you call it a "coincidence". Great book and an easy read.

I suddenly felt inspired again once I was at the website so I signed up promptly and have been playing with my paints again the past two days.

I think I will just stick to these few teaser photos of my journal pages for now, as I feel I need to add something else still, but it just feels so good to be able to do this again and I had to come and tell you about the workshop.

The videos started October 18th but I have done one class in just two days, now I can go watch the other videos for week 2.

I believe she was going to wait another week for the 3rd class because more and more people are interested. If you don't feel like working on this now, not to worry, you can download and keep the videos on your computer to watch at a later time.

As I said, this is a free workshop, but Tam has put a lot of work into these videos, they are great quality, and I have enjoyed the first ones very much.

I finally dirtied my large moleskine journal, which my DD gifted to me last Christmas so she was happy when I told her about that :)

You can go read all about the workshop here
and, or listen to a video describing it and why Tamara decided to offer this for free.

Have a great rest of the weekend, and keep your kiddies safe on Halloween :)

P.S I am still looking for 3 people to sign up for my PIF
Read about it on my last post.
No pressure, I have time:)

Autumn Fae Journal Page

After weeks of setting this aside I decided to finally finish it this past week.
She is a Faery who lives in a magical forest where the leaves turn to gold as they float the ground. The fae use the leaves to make clothing and to sleep upon, it's a beautiful forest, you really should visit sometime :)

Cooper is snuggled beside me on the couch as he does in the mornings when his mom is on her computer, and he wants to say thank you for all the lovely comments on his post, especially from the other dogs who understood where he was coming from :)
Have a great Sunday my friends, it is wet and gloomy here this morning a great day for relaxing and doing nothing much unless you feel like it.

Journal Page #2

I am so excited about this class, I am learning so much and really going outside my box, especially with this page. She was a sketch in my cheap sketch pad and then ripped out and glued to the journal. She is then covered in gesso so you will see a lot a lot of texture on her face.
If you click on the photos you will see close ups and what I mean.

I have used a lot of other texture effects on the page too, and yes, her eyes and lips are metalic purple :)

I felt a spiritual connection to this girl somehow so I decided to stitch the little cross to her collar, which is a piece from an old crocheted doily.

I am very pleased with the outcome, infact I love her. I don't often say that about my work but I do :) I wasn't, and still am not sure about the stars, I could go over them later or add something else too, that's the fun part to keep adding more and more.

There is another technique to try using all one color, so I may do that next, but Suzi is posting this week's class this afternoon and we are going to be doing a portrait on wood, so you never know, I may do that first. Should be interesting :)

Thank you all for your comments on my first journal page, and I am happy you all enjoyed Coopers post below, he brings joy into my life every single day :)

Have a very creative day,
Lynn

Journal page

My first journal page for Suzi Blu's Goddess and the Poet class.

I am doing a little better with the faces, this one I really like, but my shading still needs a lot of work :)

I used a healing affirmation for this page rather than write a bunch of stuff, I just can't seem to get to that point in an art journal yet, but it could come to me eventually. It's all about letting go really isn't it? I found that while doing the background on this spread, I was afraid to start it, but once I did I just kept adding and adding to it, I relaxed and enjoyed the process :)

Have a great weekend....
