Fun Friday Challenge at ECS last week was to use the image of this lady. I felt she was comtemplating her dreams, thinking of all the things she enjoyed, like music, travel, writing, flowers and taking care of herself, so I incorporated different images to reflect her thoughts on my background, which was done on a postcard. Then I stamped a post mark and used some chalks to give her a softer look.Thursday, November 27, 2008

The music of Angels and A Christmas Cone
Just a little something I made from one of those little wooden pieces I have had for years :) I love when I finally find a use for something don't you?I found use for more in this next project too.
A Victorian Style Christmas Cone or Tussie Mussie, covered in Paper and decorated with vintage elements and some new. This one I made for a swap gift :)

I knew I would find a use for the tangling pearl earring I found at the thrift shop :)
If you like to view close ups on blogs like I sometimes do, click on my photos.

6x6 Swap and Free clip art
My dear friend Sherry had my name in a 6x6 and ATC swap at ECS recently. I think she was the first one done, I know I still have my gifts to finish .Isn't this just beautiful? I fell in love with it right away. Sherry knows I love Vintage girls , and she has been to my home, so maybe she somehow new it would fit perfectly with my holiday decor, which I am sure will be starting to come out soon because I am so in the mood already.
She also sent me a holiday ATC, shown below, another sweet vintage girl, and I just LOVE it!
Thank you again Sherry :)
I have collected SO much Vintage clip art over the past 5 years, so I am going to share some with you, not that many people visit my blog, and if they do, they do not leave comments, but hey, you can save it too, it's fine with me. Click on the image below and save it from the full size image for a better quality. This has been a favorite of mine for some time now, hope you like it!
Hopefully it will inspire you to create something. It looks so Victorian style to me, probably was on a Victorian Christmas card as some point. I will post another one soon, not sure when. I hate to give a day and then go and forget about it.

Two Friday Challenges
Last weeks Fun Friday Challenge at ECS was to make a Moo or Two and the theme was Christmas. This is my first Moo and I decided to use a vintage German Scrap of this pretty cherub. I made her a little crown and added a crystal, then edged it with my favorite thing lately, my Krylon Gold Leaf pen. I am sure by the time Christmas comes I will have dried it up, but I have a silver leaf pen just in case, I havn't used that one as much.
The week before that Rhonda placed us a challenge to create a paper doll, but we had to use more than just paper, or stuff the paper. I came up with this little Angel, and since then I have made three of them :)
She is made on a Popsicle stick. I gathered two layers of tulle and a doily to make her skirt after cutting a hole in the center to stick the doll through, then I embellished her with trim etc. The wings are so pretty , I found them in a fabric shop while shopping for quilt batting. She can be hung on the tree or sit a top of a small tree :)
I have been working daily in my studio making gifts for swaps I am involved in, will show you more soon. I spend a good hour creating while my little Cooper sleeps in a little plush bed his dad brought home for him, and you know what? He is really good while we are in there :)

Comfort Doll
My first little doll for the Comfort Doll Project :)A 6 inch doll stuffed with some poly fill and lavendar buds which I have sent to Pat Winter for this wonderful project. These tiny dolls are sent to women's shelters worldwide as a way of letting them know they are loved and cared about. They can keep them in their pocket and when they feel lost they can stroke them and remember, they are not alone.
